The almond shelling production line is designed to efficiently remove the hard shells of almonds and separate the kernels from the shells. This comprehensive processing line covers the entire workflow—from raw, in-shell almonds to graded almond kernels—integrating functions such as feeding, thickness-based grading, shelling, shell-kernel separation, and kernel grading. The production line has a nominal capacity of 1,000 kg/h, and all components that come into contact with the raw materials are constructed from stainless steel. It achieves a shell-kernel separation rate of over 95% with an almond breakage rate of less than 5%, and is capable of stable, continuous operation over long periods. Furthermore, this system is not limited to almonds; it is also suitable for processing hazelnuts, various other types of almonds, macadamia nuts, and a wide range of other nuts.
We offer a diverse array of almond processing equipment tailored to meet various production requirements. Our almond shelling production line allows for the flexible integration of units—including feeding, shelling, and shell-kernel separation equipment—customized to your specific raw material characteristics, processing capacity, and facility layout. Whether you operate a small-scale almond processing workshop, a large-scale nut processing plant, an agricultural cooperative, or a food processing enterprise, we can assist you in selecting the ideal almond shelling solution for your needs.
Application of the Almond Shelling Production Line
Although this equipment is commonly used as an almond shelling production line, the system can also be designed for other shelled nuts.
Suitable materials can include:
- Almonds
- Badam
- Hazelnuts
- Macadamia nuts
Since different nuts have different shell structures, sizes, and hardness, we recommend confirming the raw material and processing requirements before selecting the final machine configuration. Material testing can also be arranged when necessary.

Almond Shelling Production Line Process
The complete line mainly includes an incline conveyor, rotary drum grading machine, dosing hoppers, almond shelling machines, conveyors, shell-kernel separator, kernel grading machine, and electrical control cabinet.
Raw Material Grading: Almonds are fed via a conveyor into a rotary sieve for grading into three or more sizes. Graded almonds enter storage hoppers and are automatically fed into three shelling machines using electromagnetic metering feeders.
Shelling: Shelling machines have adjustable shelling gaps according to almond size, ensuring clean shelling and intact kernels. Shelled almonds and shells are transported to the kernel-shell separator.
Kernel-Shell Separation: The separator separates shells from kernels, delivering whole almonds from one outlet and empty shells from another. The system can be custom-designed based on production capacity and almond size.
Features of the Almond Cracking Line
- Stable operation and high efficiency: With a standard capacity of 1000 kg/hour, the system supports large-scale, continuous production.
- High kernel integrity and low breakage rate: The adjustable sheller, combined with a uniform feeding mechanism, effectively minimizes damage to the kernels, ensuring a high yield of whole, unbroken almond kernels.
- Superior product quality: The system can be equipped with an optical sorter to remove impurities and defective kernels, ensuring the final product meets export-grade quality standards.
- Labor-saving: The fully automated production line requires only 1–2 operators, significantly reducing labor costs.
- Food-grade stainless steel construction: All components that come into contact with the nuts are made of stainless steel, ensuring hygiene, corrosion resistance, and ease of cleaning.
- Precise grading for consistent shelling: Equipped with a rotary grader, the system sorts almonds into four size categories, allowing for precise adjustment of the shelling gap to ensure thorough shell removal.
- Flexible and customizable: Recognizing that different almond processing enterprises have varying capacity requirements, we can recommend the optimal equipment configuration based on your target output, specific almond characteristics, available floor space, and investment budget.
